A Day in My Life

On a regular day I wake up at 7 am. My first view of the day is usually just my pillow or the ceiling but if I look out from my bedroom window I can see our beautiful garden with all the trees and flowers. When I look at the view and the nice weather I feel like I'm a lucky guy. I'm living every boy's dream. In the morning I take a shower, put some clothes on and take my bike to the training grounds. There I eat breakfast with the rest of my team. You don't have to eat with the team but I prefer to do so because the rest of my family is not at home when I go to eat so I'd rather go to the training grounds to have some company at breakfast. The clothes I wear are training clothes from the club. The shoes are regular jogging shoes.

The entrance to the training grounds are very well guarded. There is a big gate with a guard booth beside it. When you get inside you can see the Camp Nou in the distance. Everywhere around you there are football pitches and green fields that are very well taken care off. When I entered the training grounds the first weeks after I joined Barcelona I got goosebumps every time. Now I just get a good feeling in my stomach. I feel happy and get motivated to train because the view is just beautiful.

At 10 am we begin the first training session of the day. The shoes I wear during training are usually football shoes. If we are in the gym I have my jogging shoes on. The first session ends at 12 and after that we eat lunch. When I'm done eating lunch I either hang out with some teammates or I go home to sleep and rest up before the next training which begins at 2 pm.

During the session that begins at 2 we take it very slowly and don't run so much. Partly because we ate lunch not too long ago and partly because we want to have energy for the training in the evening. We practice passing, improve our technique and sometimes we have theory lessons.

When we are done with the second training session of the day I go home to meet my family who are usually home by that time (just after 4 pm). I don't have any other time to meet them before because they are at work or at school. I also spend this time with them because I have one more training in the evening so I lose some family time there as well.

The last training is at 6 pm and ends at 8 pm. During this time we either have a regular training or work out in the gym. Sometimes we even do both. When we are done we take a shower as we always do after trainings and then we eat dinner. Just as with the breakfast you don't have to eat at the training grounds, you can eat at home as well. Some days I eat at home, some days I eat with the team just to try to spend time with everybody.

After dinner I spend time with my family. Sometimes we watch television and sometimes we go out and do things together in the city. Since I have training in the morning I have to go to sleep at 11 pm at the latest.

Freaky Fashion

I don't think that any particular types of clothes or music is in right now. People wear what they want and listen to what they want. No one judges and I think that is really good. You should be able to wear whatever you want and listen to whatever you want so that you can feel comfortable and free.

I commonly wear sports clothes because I train a lot. When I'm not in my sports clothes I wear a pair of jeans or chinos and a shirt. Generally I don't need anything more than that to keep me warm since I live in Barcelona and is it warm here throughout most times of the year.

As for music I listen to all types of music. Before trainings and games I listen to music that gets me pumped and hyped. I like to have a lot of adrenalin when I play so listenings to music before is a good way to get some.

I'm not really into fashion. I generally do not care for what people wear or what music they listen to.

Friends and Freetime

When I moved from Sweden I had to leave my old friends behind, which didn't bother me too much. I have gotten new friends here in Barcelona and in the academy, friends that I have much more fun with since we share the same interests (football), unlike most of my friends in Sweden.

One of the persons that I've gotten to know here is Jacob, he is a very close friend to me. Jacob also plays in Barcelona and we live very close to each other. We live in a classy neighborhood where our club buys houses for their players. I remember the first time I met Jacob, a tall guy with a big smile. It was when I first arrived at the training camp. He showed me around and helped me the first few days, he had been here for a few months before I got here. Before he started in Barcelona he played in Madríd.

On my spare time (between trainings) I like to rest up and just chill at my house. When I have a day off from training, usually the day after I've played a game, I like to hang out with my friends in the city or with my family if they are not at work. When in the city, me and my friends often go to some restaurant and eat lunch. When I am with my family we like to do things together, wether it is going to the cinema or eat lunch.

On longer vacations, when the season is over in the summer or during christmas break, my family and I like to go in trips (as I mentioned in the other text). This summer we went to Quebec in Canada and, just like our trips to Italy, it was beautiful. I had never before left Europe so it was quite the experience, going on long plane rides and all that.

Me and My Family

Hello!
My name is Alexander Serrano and I am 17 years old. I live in Barcelona, Spain but I'm originally from Sweden. I moved from Sweden because I'm a football player, I play in FC Barcelona's second team. When I play I usually play as a central midfielder. I'm decently young for playing in their second team, I moved from Sweden to Barcelona when I was 12 years old. When I left Sweden I were still in elementary school. Since I still want to and have to get education, I have private teachers that help me get through my education at home. I do my schoolwork when I don't train football. I practice three times a day, once in the morning, once after lunch and once in the evening and I'm quickly learning Spanish and some Catalan.

As for me and my family, we live a decently luxury life. We have a big house which we got from the club when they signed me. We have a big garden with many beautiful trees, flowers and bushes. One of the trees is a pomegranate tree. Well, it's not exactly a tree, it's a plant. I got it from my grandma and grandpa when I was around 13 years old. Our garden is a really nice place to chill and relax. My mother likes to work in the garden. On the days she works as a gardener because it has always been her dream job. My father works as a professor at the university here in Barcelona, he loves his job just as much as my mother loves hers. In the garden there is also a swimming pool were I like to cool down on warm summer days.

Besides from my mother and my father, I have a brother aswell. He is 19 years old and studies physics here at the university in Barcelona and he loves it. My grandma (the mother of my father) lives here in Spain too, but not in Barcelona. She lives further down the coast together with my grandpa.

On my spare time I like to travel with my family. I'm very busy usually so we try to spent as much time together as possible when everybody is on vacation. Last summer after I had played a game in Italy we went on a week long trip to the countryside and it was marvelous.
